Above & Beyond lock in an acoustic show at Sydney Opera House
As live music venues go, London’s Royal Albert Hall, the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and Australia’s own Sydney Opera House are in a league of their own. Luckily for Above & Beyond fans, they’re also three of the stops the trance titans will be making on their next world tour, kicking off in May.
The tour – announced today – will coincide with the release of a new album called Acoustic II and will have A&B bring their new material to ten of the world’s most prestigious venues, all in acoustic mode. Acoustic II is the follow-up to group’s 2014 album Acoustic, which saw Above & Beyond hit the road for their first ever unplugged shows alongside a 15-piece band that included three vocalists. According to the group, “it was really the reaction from our fans that convinced us to tour it more extensively.”
The Acoustic II tour will feature new arrangements of some of Above & Beyond’s biggest hits, from We Are All We Need to On My Way To Heaven. But you still have a while to wait before the big day – Sydney Opera House is the final show on the tour, with Paavo, Jono and Tony reaching our shores on Monday June 6.
Tickets to all shows go on sale from January 21.
